Admired and claimed by TAG Heuer fans and wristwatches fans alike, the TAG Heuer Silverstone Wristwatch is getting re-released this month, February 2010, in a limited edition of 1,500 models for each color: brown and blue. The new Silverstones will be released in brown or blue versions, with perforated alligator straps and an updated Caliber 11 movement with a Dubois-Depraz module.
TAG Heuer Silverstone Wristwatch was first introduced in 1974 so as a way of emulating the curvature of the famous English racing track, with a design inspired by the distinctive square case of its predecessor, well known TAG Heuer Monaco Watch. Back in ’74, the Silverstone timepiece featured the Chronomatic Calibre 11, the first automatic self-winding chronograph ever made.
For its re-issue, Silverstone is now powered by an updated version of the Calibre 11 with Dubois-Depraz module. In order to celebrate TAG Heuer's history, it houses the brand's original Heuer logo, which is flanked on the dial by two silver counters at 3 and 9 o'clock. Stainless steel pushbuttons at 2 and 4 o'clock, a hand-applied date window at 6 o'clock and curved, sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment complete the watch's look.

(TAG Heuer's Woods' Campaign)
Even though at first, Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer, announced on Dec, 2009 that it would spend some time analyzing its relationship with the embatted golfer Tiger Woods (33), spokeswoman Mariam Sylla later confirmed that their sponsorship wouldn’t be changed because Woods’ remained as the best golfer worldwide and TAG Heuer does not care about his private life.
She told to Associated Press that they would continue with the relationship as he is the best in his domain. She also added that they respected his performance in the sport and that Woods’ personal life was none of their business.

Even though Tiger’s sponsorship deals went through a none stable period, TAG Heuer has sponsored Tiger Woods since 2002 and assured this fact wouldn’t change for now as, according to TAG Heuer’s Official Web Site, “the relationship between the leader in prestigious sports watches and chronographs since 1860 and Golf virtuoso Tiger Woods has always been extremely professional and productiveâ€. Woods’s $100 million-per-year earnings come mainly from his lucrative endorsements deals with PepsiCo, Nike, Accenture, Electronic Arts Inc, Gillette, AT&T, Procter & Gamble’ and Swiss watch maker TAG Heuer
Tiger Woods' decision to withdraw from professional golf due to a sex scandal raised questions on Friday about his future as a magnet for corporate sponsors,
Woods, the first athlete to earn $1 billion, is married to former Swedish model Elin Nordegren and has two children with her, has been the subject of intense public scrutiny since his Nov 27 car crash outside his Florida home, which led to rumours of infidelity.

The scandal gained further traction as several women came forward to say they had had affairs with Woods or were named by media as having done so. The women included a cocktail waitress and a porn star.
Woods’ admission of infidelity has also raised fears that this withdrawal from the spotlight is likely to hammer golf broadcasts - ratings for tournaments dropped nearly 50 per cent in the eight months he was absent in 2008-2009, as he recovered from knee surgery.
