Chaumet Watches and Sophie Marceau

The heroin of "L'Empire des Sentiments", the brands new advertising campaign

Chaumet was founded by Marie Etienne Nitot in 1780 with the proposal of producing jewels that would become symbols of the power and splendour of the Empire, nurturing Napoleon’s mythic aura.

She was the Emperor’s official appointed jeweller and, as for that, designed the imperial sword, created audacious sentimental jewels for Empress Josephine and then sumptuous tiaras and jewellery for Empress Marie Louise.

Joseph Chaumet gave his name to the House in 1885 becoming an emblem of social importance and style accessories. In 1907, he established his store at 12, Place Vendome in Paris.

Today, after so many achievements, Chaumet perpetuates its tradition of exceptional savoir-faire with collections of fine jewellery, jewels and watches inspired by its distinctive codes to resolutely embrace modernity.
