With Mexico slowly positioning itself as the capital of luxury watchmaking in Latin America, Corum capitalized the SIAR - Salon Internacional Alta Relojeria - held in Mexico by organizing a Convention one day before, bringing together the most important retailers of Latin America.
Corum’s CEO, Mr Antonio Calce announced at the very start of the convention, an extended collaboration with Temposatis, the brand’s agent in Latin America and Mexico, testifying the will to consolidate Corum’s presence on the long term in this area. The announcement was followed by a presentation of the brand’s strategy and the introduction of Corum’s worldwide sponsoring project – its partnership with Energy Team, challenger of the 34th America’s Cup.
After the Convetion, Corum hosted an intimate dinner at the prestigious St Regis Hotel, where guests could discover some of the brand’s exclusive pieces. Antonio Calce thanked all their partners for the continuous support in promoting Corum and reaffirmed his conviction of the existence of a great sensibility, a predisposition to luxury, and appreciation of high end horology in Latin America.
The implementation of a new distribution strategy in Latin America is a very important milestone in the life of Corum. A brand that, throughout the years has been moving fast, recapturing legitimacy in the watch industry, with the product development at the center of its strategy, Corum has always launched exceptional pieces affirming the creativity and know-how to be among the brands of Haute Horlogerie.

Corum was founded in 1955 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland by Gaston Ries and his nephew, Renee Bannwart, and just one year later the first Corum watches were being produced. Corum's claim to fame came early on when the company introduced a watch made out of a $20 dollar gold piece which was an instant best-seller. Even though this had been done before on pocket watches, Corum was the first and only one ever to do a wristwatch. In January 2000, Corum was purchased by it's current owner, Severin Wunderman, and was soon under the guidance of his son Michael, the President of the company to this date. The team was completed in 2007 with the arrival of a man with a rich professional background, Antoine Calce, to the CEO position, who oversees overall operations.
