Jaeger-LeCoultre unveils the Reverso Global Champions Tour in Abu Dhabi

A watch to honour the most prestigious championship in showjumping today

From November 24th to November 26th, the final for The Global Champions Tour (“GCT”), the most prestigious championship in showjumping today, took place at Al Forsan International Sports Resort in Abu Dhabi.
At the event Jaeger-LeCoultre, official timekeeper of the Global Champions Tour for the second consecutive year, presented two very special personalised awards for the two winners of the weekend. The winner of the Abu Dhabi Stage of the Global Champions Tour was awarded with a personalised Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Watch, engraved with the logo of the GCT.

Jaeger Le-Coultre once more took the opportunity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of its iconic Reverso watch and presented a reversible watch linked to the equestrian world through the conception in 1931 of a swivelling case with a hard back in order to protect the glass of the watches of polo players against the hard knocks of a game of polo.

This venue was the last opportunity for the participants to score points for the overall GCT 2011 standing. With the best overall score out of 10 rounds, Australian rider Edwina Tops – Alexander, classed as the best female rider in the world, was crowned overall winner of the Global Champions Tour 2011 and was awarded a beautiful Atmos Clock, presented in a special case showcasing the Global Champions Tour logo and dates of the final held in Abu Dhabi.

The Global Champions Tour was founded by Olympic gold medallist Jan Tops in 2006, with the objective to improve the sport through better conditions for riders, horses, horse owners, sponsors and spectators alike.
