A memorable evening for the world of Golf

The Omega Mission Hills World Cup commenced in style this week with an opening ceremony at the Mission Hills Resort in Haikou, China.
Players, officials, local dignitaries, and other VIPs from twenty-eight nations gathered for an spectacular opening evening with a routine by Chinese dancers. The evening was followed by a number of speeches before the players were introduced along with huge flags from each competing country.
George O’Grady, European Tour Chief Executive, congratulated all 28 participating nations and also paid tribute to Dr David Chu, the founder of Mission Hills who died this year leaving the legacy of Mission Hills in the hands of his two sons Ken and Tenniel.
The Omega Mission Hills World Cup 2011 will take place from November 24th to November 27th and will be the fourth occasion that Omega is participating as sponsor of the World Cup of Golf. The stellar field features five Major winners including current Masters champion, Charl Schwartzel, and US Open title holder, Rory McIlroy.
