Patek Philippe Column Wheel Chronograph

New Limited Edition Ref 3670A

NEW Patek Philippe Limited Edition Ref 3670A

Patek Philippe is releasing a new limited edition of only 16 pieces of a Column Wheel Chronograph model featuring Patek’s Caliber 13-130, originally assembled and adjusted by Patek Philippe in the middle of the 20th Century. This Patek new model with the reference 3670A will be sold only through the Patek Philippe Salons Geneva with a retail price of 240,000 Swiss Francs.

For collectors and watchmaking enthusiasts, the manually wound caliber 13-130 with column-wheel control ranks among the manufacturer's technical jewels and is also regarded as a milestone in the history of chronographs. The movement is based on a 13-ligne Valjoux ébauche (diameter approx. 28 mm) that was modified explicitly for Patek Philippe. Salient features of this elegant high-performance caliber include the S-shaped clutch lever, the lovely escape-wheel and driving-wheel bridges, the whiplash index adjuster, and the very special shape of the three-armed chronograph bridge.

The rediscovery of 16 of these calibers crafted in 1955 and their flawless condition is thus an extraordinary occurrence. To commemorate the lucky find, Patek Philippe has created a limited special edition of chronographs in which the precious mechanical movements spring back to life: the Reference 3670A.

10 Years of the The Patek Philippe Museum 2001 - 2011

All from Antiques to New collections

The Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva, capital of the all time representation of quality watchmaking, commemorates its tenth year running and displaying the antique as well as the new collection of the legendary Swiss brand.

Set in a building from designed by architect William Henssler in 1919, the Patek Philippe Museum treasures are displayed over four levels, on the remodelled building which was extended in 1999. In a chronological journey from the first to the fourth level illustrating the evolution of time-keeping, the exhibition rooms display The Crafts of Watchmaking, The Patek Philippe Collection from 1839 to present, The Antiques Collection from the 16th to the 19th century, and The Patek Philippe Archive and Library.

The two collections display in the central floors of the building, right in the core, divide Patek Philippe’s collection from Antiques from the 19th century and before. The Antique Collection displays a representation of Geneva's, Swiss, and European watches and enamels dating from the 16th century to the 19th, including a great number of masterpieces that have left their mark in the history of horology and audiovisual presentations as well. The Patek Philippe Collection testifies the over 150 years of excellence in watchmaking displaying selected watches from Patek’s pocket Watches, Chronometers, Art Nouveau and Deco,     Commemorative watches, the Calatrava Collection and much more!

Every watch lover, and in particular every Patek philippe Collection lover has a mandatory stop visit in Geneve at this Museum which has a ten year history to account for. And any visit would not be completed without stopping by the handsome collection of over 400 tools and antique workbenches used in watchmaking and all its related crafts, and the impressive library with 4000 literary works, antique and recent, dedicated entirely to horology.
