Piaget Ultra thin-art

A double record

Extreme thinness is at the heart of Piaget’s culture and history. Since the 1950s, the legendary 9P and 12P movements have inspired a line of calibers that are as thin as they are high-performance. The Manufacture’s incredible innovative capacities and its unique creations in terms of ultra-thinness have allowed it to stand out from the crowd, assuming a position at the very summit of the art of watchmaking.

Presented in 1957, the hand-wound 9P caliber represents a technological revolution, and a turning-point in the history of Piaget.

With more than 30 new movements in the space of 12 years, Piaget has become the unchallenged master of the ultra-thin movement.

Since the 1960s, Piaget has asserted itself as a specialist in jewelry watches.

Double record for Piaget in 2010: the thinnest self-winding movement and self-winding timepiece in the world!

In 1960, Piaget offered its male clientele the thinnest self-winding movement in the world: the 12P.

Thanks to its Footprint concept, and with the participation of personalities, Piaget takes part in the charitable causes that it holds dear.

In 1998, the ultra-thin watch took the name Altiplano, a reference to the fascinating bare plateaus of Argentina.

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of this famous caliber 12P, Piaget once again pushes the limits of miniaturization with a double record!
