Breitling Chronospace «BREITLING JET TEAM»

Another Breitling Luxurious Limited Edition

Breitling Chronospace Breitling Jet Team

Breitling offers a limited edition of its Chronospace instrument for pilot dedicated to the Breitling Jet Team, the world’s only civilian flight team performing on jets. An exceptional chronograph for an exceptional unit.

Having been treated to a whole new look in 2010, the Breitling Jet Team continues to distinguish itself by its breathtaking aerobatics shows performed at speeds of almost 700 km/h. In tribute to its stunning feats, Breitling has created a 1,000 piece limited edition of the Chronospace, the latest of its instruments for professionals. This model is distinguished by the silvery dial adorned with the new team logo and with a plane representing one of the seven L-39 Albatros jets composing it. Based on cutting-edge electronics, the Chronospace offers a full range of functions that are useful to elite pilots such as those of the Breitling Jet Team – including 1/100th of a second chronograph with split times, alarm, countdown, dual timezone display with independent alarm, and Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). It is powered by a Breitling SuperQuartzTM movement that is ten times more accurate than an ordinary quartz caliber. The LCD screens are equipped with a backlighting system guaranteeing optimal read-off by day or night. The double caseback amplifies sound signals up to a level of 90 decibels. The circular slide rule serving to handle all calculations relating to airborne navigation is activated by rotating the star-shaped bezel – an original and extremely ergonomic design. The satin-brushed woven steel Aero Classic bracelet accentuates the original character of this sturdy, efficient and accurate wrist instrument.

Baume & Mercier, legendary femininity

Women as Baume & Mercier's muse

Baume & Mercier

The love story between Baume & Mercier and women began in the 1920s, when time deserted waistcoat pockets to take its place on the wrist. It was only a step from the first wristwatches to the birth of dainty jewelry watches, and Baume & Mercier proudly blazed this trail by creating distinctive and dainty watches that became genuine adornments. The adverts of the era offered women “Fanciful Timepieces for Ladies”. Considering femininity as an unquenchable source of inspiration, the brand has established enduring yet constantly evolving ties with women. Over the
generations, this relationship has become one of heart-felt mutual affection and understanding, expressed and strengthened through a string of creations running from the “Baignoire” launched in 1920, the “Diamant” introduced in 2005, as well as the “Marquise” in the 1940s; the famous “Catwalk” cuff-watch unveiled in 1997; and of “iléa”, designed by a woman for women in 2008.

Internationally acclaimed while remaining totally authentic and profoundly human: Meg Ryan, Kim Basinger, Teri Hatcher and Evangeline Lilly have all embodied the Baume & Mercier vision of timeless and quintessential femininity. Four advertising campaigns from 2006 to 2009 have enabled the brand to commit to supporting causes such as cancer research, childhood education, aid to underprivileged women and the fight against poverty.

Memories are made of this:

March 8th 1910 in Copenhagen. The first International Women’s Day. In addition to
the right to vote and to take public office, women demanded the right to work, to
professional training, and an end to discrimination in the workplace.

March 8th 1914 in Germany. Women claimed the right to vote and were finally granted
it on November 12th 1918.

March 8th 1975 in the United Nations. The UN began sponsoring the International
Women’s Day.

March 8th 1982 in France. The socialist government instated the official celebration of
Women’s Day.

March 8th 1986 in Washington, 100,000 people marched to demonstrate against
conservatives’ attempt to eliminate the right to abortion.

March 8th 1998 in the Soviet Union. Launch of the first beauty contest...

March 8th 2001 on the internet. Launch of the permanent Women’s Day website in order to
preserve a trace of all that has been done and said on behalf of Women’s status in society.

March 8th 2010 in Switzerland. Baume & Mercier launches its newsletter
specifically dedicated to women.

The spirit of a collection:

Singular and yet multi-facetted, elegant and winning, physical and slender, simple or precious, timeless and more rebellious than ever, the “Diamant” is the epitome of free-spirited femininity. Like active women who pursue several lives in a single day, it is the perfect match for every moment.

Rythmical details:
Pure, slim lines, sensual curves, a square case clothed in steel or gold, either  diamond set or non-set are the characteristic features of its inimitable identity.

Distinguishing mark:
An oval crown set with an off-centered diamond like a signature.

Emancipated femininity:
Embodying the diamond brought within reach by Baume & Mercier, the “Diamant” is a watch that women dare to buy for themselves – thanks to gender equality!

Breitling Windrider B-Class

A feminine brand of sophistication

Breitling windrider bclass

Caliber: Breitling 71 // Battery: CR1616 // bATTERY LIFE: 6 years.

Strictly reserved for ladies, the B-Class provides the refinement one expects from a ladies watch, combined with the reliability required of a sports watch. The somewhat unconventional case is topped by a bezel alternating polished and satin-finish surfaces. The finesse of the dial and hands and the harmonious overall effect reflect the extreme care lavished on each detail. The natural mother-of-pearls dial is standard equipment on the B-Class, as are the blue or luxurious black dials. Each offers optimal time readout. Thanks to the skills of Breitling's jeweller-gemsetters, the B-Class is also available with a diamond-set bezel. The B-Class houses a SuperQuartz TM chronometer-certified movement driven by a lithium battery with a six year life. Water resistant to 100 meters (330 feet), it also has a three-gasket crown, cambered sapphire crystal glareproofed both sides, and a unidirectional rotating bezel.

Parmigiani Fleurier History

Michel Parmigiani, a visionary founder

The valley of the canton of Neuchatel, the Val-de-Travers in Switzerland is the picturesque paradise where Michel Parmigiani, the founder of Parmigiani Fleurier watches, was born in 1950. Growing up in Switzerland made the young child observe horologic industry from close view. Moreover, the scenic beauty of his native serene valley put in him a quest for aesthetics and an eye for beauty. With all these innate characteristics, Michel Parmigiani grew a passion for the intriguing creations of timepieces. He decided to take up watch fabrication as his profession.

As a stepping stone for his dream job, Michel Parmigiani went under watch crafting apprenticeship and soon after inaugurated his own watch making enterprise more than thirty years back. A man, who has witnessed the 450 years heritage of the Swiss timepiece industry which is considered to be the most superior in the world, is it surprising that he would delve into restoring the traditional timepieces which stand tall in Swiss history.

Michel Parmigiani started to bring back the historical glory of the Switzerland by restoring reputed models in his novel collections of Parmigiani Fleurier watches. While returning to the roots of the Swiss industry of horologerie, his company accessed the high end quality that can only be comparable to the indigenous technology of Swiss made watches.

Eventually, a decade ago, the enterprise of Parmigiani Fleurier watches received a brand name because of the Sandoz family foundation’s relying on him. Having a concept of ameliorating the timepieces more and more in both technology and design, this company wooed Parmigiani to venture with it. Thus the brand Parmigiani Fleurier reverberated.

A commentary on Zenith Watches

Apart from its quality and design, Zenith is characterized for manufacturing its own movements and having its own calibre. Those movements are known for being high standard quality. As a consequence, brands like Rolex adopted Zenith’s movement to manufacture the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona. In 1988, Rolex launched its first automatic chronograph in which the most important feature was its calibre 4030 based on the Zenith calibre 400, the best industrial chronographic movement on the market at the time.
