Girard-Perregaux Celebrating 220 years
A worldwide travelling exhibition
To celebrate its 220th Anniversary, Girard-Perregaux has set up a worldwide travelling exhibition. This exhibition will feature exceptional timepieces from the haute horlogerie museum collection and of rare contemporary watches.
In a display that will make this one the most important set of Girard-Perregaux timepieces ever showcase outside of Switzerland, this exhibition will take the visitor through centuries of evolution in the art of measuring time while establishing an interesting link with major events, public figures, and works of art which have marked world history.
One of the highlights of the exhibition, named “A tale of Inspiration - Unveiling 220 years of watchmaking art”, will be the “Esmeralda”, a masterpiece by Constant Girard-Perregaux. The Esmeralda is the most famous edition of the Tourbillion with its three golden bridges awarding it a gold medal at the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1889.
The traveling exhibition has already made stop in Singapore, at the Art and Science Museum from September 16th to September 18th, and in Shangai, at the Sinan Mansion from October 20th to October 23rd. The last stop will in New York and it will take place at the Girard-Perregaux Boutique on Madison Avenue from November 18th to November 26th.
