Vacheron Constantin hosted the first West Coast Hour Lounge

A glamorous collector event in San Francisco

Held at the historic penthouse of the San Francisco’s Fairmont Hotel, Vacheron Constantin hosted the first West Coast Hour Lounge collevtor event, an evening to be remembered.

The event was hosted at a palace constructed in 1926 with a two-story circular library complete with a secret passageway, the door to which is concealed behind the bookshelves. Library visitors sit beneath a sapphire-blue rotunda on which a celestial map depicting the signs of the zodiac is rendered in gold leaf. The distinctive billiard room conjurers up images of Humphrey Bogart’s Casablanca, and the terrace offers sweeping city views.

The evening began with cocktails as guests toured the penthouse, took in the view, caught up with old friends, and admired the timepieces on display. After a warm welcome from Hugues de Pins, there were open questions from guests, and a live discussion of the type often seen on the Hour Lounge forum followed. Topics included watch design, technical developments, and collector preferences. Christian Selmoni and Vincent Kauffmann offered insights into the process of creating new models.

No better place than a palace than to hold an amazing evening for watch connoisseurs who were treated as royalty by Vacheron Cosntantin all throughout an unforgettable evening in San Francisco.

Vacheron Constantin new Kalla Haute Couture à Pampilles

The embodiment of passion

Vacheron Constantin is merging once again the art of exceptional watchmaking with creating luxurious pieces of jewellery and is now presenting the new Kalla Haute Couture à Pampilles. Its supple, airy aesthetic provides a fresh illustration of the constantly renewed creativity of the in-house designers.

The Kalla Haute Couture à Pampilles is adorned with approximately 28.70 carats of gems, reviving the tradition of “secret” watches that enabled 19th century watches to check the time in an exquisitely discreet manner. The precious stones conceal the hours and minutes beneath a paved cover enhanced by the graceful motion of four mobile strands. Far more than just a watch, this splendid bracelet unfolds its ethereally dainty white gold silhouette entirely set with diamonds.

This jewellery inspired means of securing the watch to the wrist sets the perfect aesthetic finishing touch to a model beating to the rhythm of a prestigious mechanical heart: the famous hand-wound Calibre 1005 with the crown on the back of the movement, designed after the historical Vacheron Constantin baguette movement.
