Longines Conquest Line

Description

The characteristics of the models in the Conquest line meet the requirements of the most demanding sports: water-resistance to 300 m, screw-in crown and case-back, lateral protection for the crown, triple folding safety clasp. The 41 mm diameter stainless steel case houses a choice of a self-winding, chronograph or three-hand movement. The Conquest line perpetuates the spirit of adventure of all those who, to discover new horizons; have dared to go farther than others. It is in this spirit, and bearing in mind the brand’s own heritage, that Longines has designed the models in the Conquest line. Its aim is to seduce today’s sportsmen and women, who concentrate on efficiency and performance without sacrificing elegance. The subtle balance between ceramic and steel is a perfect allegory of this spirit. Special attention has been paid to the aesthetics of the bezel, the cabochon crown and the links, all made of ceramic. This exceptional material combines timeless glamour with novel technical features. Conquest includes technical characteristics that meet the requirements of the most demanding sportsmen and women. Both sober and sophisticated, this model is guaranteed to be noticed at the most fashionable soirées as well as in the stands at the prestigious Royal Ascot or the Melbourne Cup Carnival horse races.

Longines Master Collection and Maserati Gran Turismo

Both collection reviews

Longines Master Collection:
The Master Collection from Longines features watches that blend technical complications with stylish design. This automatic timepiece features hours, minutes and seconds on a subdial at 3 o' clock with a 30-minute chrono register at 9 o' clock. A date indicator sits on a silver face, which contrasts with the chocolate brown alligator strap, an elegant timepiece to cherish.    Longines Maserati Gran Turismo.  When the topic is sporting machinery, Maserati is not often the name on the radar screens. This is the other Italian brand experiencing a renaissance in the North American marketplace, following the 1980s’ disastrous Bi-Turbos. Making its worldwide debut at the Geneva Auto Show, Maserati launched its new high-performance coupe called the Grand Turismo. Stunning beauty is the Maserati Gran Turismo’s forte. Its clean, taut lines, arched curves and sleek surfaces immediately grab the attention. Sculptured, sexy, elegant and muscular, the 2008 Gran Turismo’s visual presence is a sure head-turner. South Beach and Beverly Hills groupies will line up to be first inside this stunning coupe. Unmistakably Maserati, the world-renowned Italian design house, Pininfarina, has created a design that symbolizes the very nature of the Gran Turismo concept, with a sporty performance for four adults to enjoy.

History of Longines

In 1866, Longines was founded at Les Longines near Saint-Imier by Ernest Francillon who was a nephew of Auguste Agassiz (one of the pioneers of Swiss horology). In 1873, Longines was awarded a gold medal for precision and reliability at the Universal Exposition of Vienna. This success was followed by many further horological honors. Longines' record of ten "Grands Prix" and 28 "Medailles d'Or" has never been equaled by any other watch manufacturer. To define its high grade watch from imitation, the trademark, winged hour glass, was used from its early days (this mark was submitted to Swiss Patents Office in 1889).
In the early part of the 20th century, Longines left its mark in the fields of exploration and aviation. Many famous pioneers, e.g., Charles Lindbergh, Richard Byrd, Roald Amundsen, and Amelia Earheart, faced historic challenges with a Longines watch on their wrist. They now belong to Swatch group and do not produce their own calibers any more. However, their elegant watches on the basis of their honored history are very attractive.

The Longines DolceVita

The Longines DolceVita wristwatches are a perfect square. Even though it was designed with the classic spirit, at the same time it was though as a contemporary, stylish and sophisticated fashion design. Longines DolceVita offers a wide spectre of more than five case sizes made of steel, gold and diamonds depending on the model. Its numerals can be whether Roman or Arabic and its hour markers can even be kite-shaped.
