Omega: The Dynamic

An Avant Garde design

The Dynamic is the most well known example of the “Avant Garde” design launched in 1967. The Dynamic was launched in 1968, it represented the archetype of the late 60’s and early 70’s design. The shape was designed especially for the human wrist and it was to become such a success that it turned into a unique line. Even though the Dynamic wristwatch was at the beginning part of the “Geneve” line collection, it was such a success that it marked the end of this line of watches in the early 70’s so as to be incorporated to the “De Ville” watch line. The “De Ville” collection, including Dynamic wristwatch, became the focal point of their design department.

Omega Flightmaster

The Omega Flightmaster has been designed for specific demands of aircraft pilots, but also for travellers requiring a complete instrument.

A chronograph with manual winding and internal rotating bezel with 60-minute scale and GMT function, made possible by an autonomous hand adjustable using an extra crown. Three references in steel are known for this model (Ref. 145.013; Ref. 145.026 and 145.036) and one in gold. These vary in terms of case size and movement.

Every model has two buttons to operate the chronograph and three crowns: at 3 o’clock to adjust the time, at 10 o’clock to adjust the GMT and at 8.30 to operate the internal bezel. In order to indicate the dials they operate, both are enamelled yellow and red (the chronographic dials may by red or yellow), while the crown adjusting the hands of the blue GMT and internal scale are black.
