The Omega Dubai Ladies Open 2011 comes to an end

American golfer Alexis Thompson took the championship

At the end of this year’s Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, American 16-year-old Alexis Thompson was presented with the championship trophy by HRH Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Al Maktoum.

The dubai Ladies Masters emerged as one of the most exciting golfing contests of the season and “Lexi” Thompson added another impressive accomplishment to her outstanding year. In September she became the youngest winner of an LPGA event, and her excellence was proved once again with her victory in Dubai.

Along with the tournament trophy, Lexi was presented with an 18K red gold Omega Constellation following the final round. This was the third year that Omega had been title sponsor of the Dubai Ladies Masters. Raynald Aeschlimann, Omega’s Vice President and International Sales Director. said that everyone at Omega are proud to participate in the Dubai Ladies Masters and congratulate Lexi on her remarkable performance.

Omega's presence in the world of golf continues to grow and the watchmaker will be on hand as Official Timekeeper in 2016 when the sport returns to the Olympic Games for the first time in more than a century.
