Piaget Celebrates the Altiplano in New York

A ballet performance inspired by the movements of the Piaget Antiplano

Piaget recently hosted an evening with Departures magazine at the CORE, a club in New York, presenting an amazing ballet performance that was inspired by the sophisticated elegance, refined aesthetics and precision movements of the Piaget Altiplano.

Guests of Piaget, American Express and CORE: club were treated to an intimate performance by former New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theater principals, Charles Askegard and Michele Wiles, who are the current artistic directors and principal dancers of Ballet Next.

The evening kicked off with a cocktail reception in the main gallery where Larry Boland, President of Piaget North America, and Departures’ Vice President of Publishing, Mark Cooper, welcomed guests and enjoyed a Piaget signature cocktail, “The Altiplano” as well as tasty hors d’oeuvres.

Attendees had the opportunity to view timepieces from the Altiplano collection, including a stunning holographic 3-D display featuring Piaget’s newest timepiece, the Altiplano 43mm, the thinnest automatic watch in the world. After cocktails, guest witnessed contempo selections from Swan Lake, performed by Mr. Askegard and Ms. Wiles.

The evening concluded with an intimate Q&A session with the dancers, moderated by Joan Quatrano, the New York City Ballet Managing Director of Volunteer and Program Research.
