José Plácido Domingo has been since 1982 an extraordinary Ambassador for Rolex Watches. He was first hired to represent the GMT Master, but since he was and is a magnificent media personality, he has also been connected to the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date Watches.
Plácido Domingo participated in The Three Tenors concert at the opening of the 1990 World Cup in Rome with José Carreras and Luciano Pavarotti. Also, a statue of him was erected in Mexico City as recognition to his contributions to the 1985 Mexico City earthquake victims. He is considered to be a talented and hard-working musician.
